We offer training and certification courses to ensure our staff has all the skills necessary to be the best they can be at the pools! Our courses are offered at no cost to our employees. Our courses follow StarGuard Elite curriculum.

We are now hiring for the 2024 season.

Course Requirements:
You must be able to swim and pass the lifeguard prerequisites.

Typical Agenda:
This may not be exact for all courses, but is the format we use most often.

• Day 1 (Fri):
  • 4:30pm-6pm Class (We will meet each other and then do our prerequisite test out in the pool.)
  • 6:15pm-8pm Pool
• Day 2 (Sat):
  • 9am-12pm Pool
  • 12pm-1pm Lunch Break
  • 1pm-6pm Class
• Day 3 (Sun):
  • 9am-12pm Pool
  • 12pm-1pm Lunch Break
  • 1pm-6pm Class

Class Options for 2024:
Choose one of the classes. You must attend all three days of the class to complete your certification.

  • Friday, April 19, 2024 (4:30pm-8pm) CANCELLED. THERE IS NO FRIDAY CLASS
  • Saturday, April 20, 2024 (9am-6pm)
  • Sunday, April 21, 2024 (9am-6pm)
• (DONE) Class 4:
  • Friday, May 3, 2024 (4:30pm-8pm) CANCELLED. THERE IS NO FRIDAY CLASS.
  • Saturday, May 4, 2024 (9am-6pm)
  • Sunday, May 5, 2024 (9am-6pm)
• (FULL) Class 5:
  • Friday, May 10, 2024 (4:30pm-8pm) CANCELLED. THERE IS NO FRIDAY CLASS.
  • Saturday, May 11, 2024 (9am-6pm)
  • Sunday, May 12, 2024 (9am-6pm)

Prerequisite that needs to be completed before the course:

• YOU MUST HAVE PASSED THE ONLINE PORTION OF THE CLASS PRIOR TO ATTENDING. (If you complete the online portion less than 48 hours before class, please bring printed documentation.)
• You will receive an email with the online course information once you register.

Bring the following to class:

• Printed or viewable on a tablet/laptop: StarGuard 6th Edition Best Practices for Lifeguards Textbook (available for download in the online course)
• Swimsuit
• Warm clothes
• Sandals or shoes appropriate for a pool setting
• Goggles if you need them for swimming
• Towel
• Pen and paper

Uniforms:
Employees will receive their uniforms during the employee orientation.

• Mens uniform consists of: t-shirt, tank top, guard swim shorts and a whistle. We have sizes from XS to 3XL.
• Womens uniform consists of: t-shirt, tank top, one piece guard suit and a whistle. We have sizes from XS to 3XL. One piece guard suits sizes are 32-44.
• Optionally, bucket hats ($21) and hoodies ($25) are available for purchase. Contact Kamila for more information.
